1. 2001.050.001 - Citizens of Westport!!! It appears that this was part of a deal between the Westport Selectman and his populace. Rather than conscript within Westport, the town would instead contribute funds towards the efforts of New Bedford to create regiments - an Artillery regiment in particular is mentioned. It seems that quite a few Westporters were hesitant to join the war effort, as $25 were collected towards this goal. However, judging by 2001.49 it seems that there was a draft in Westport regardless.

2. 2001.050.002 - Agreement Enrollment of militia The Draft eventually came to Westport December 11th, 1863, and judging by these artifacts it seems that 33 were in charge of running the effort. There appears to be two copies of the list of draft workers, one on white lined paper and one on a piece of thicker blue paper. While the names are in a somewhat different order, they are otherwise identical. None of these men are featured in Paul A. Pannoni's Biographies of Civil War Soldiers and Sailors.
